Fresh and Pre-prepared Fruit and Vegetables

Welsh Health Supplies are currently in the process of planning for the upcoming Fresh and Pre-prepared Fruit and Vegetables contract, which is due to begin on the 1st October, 2010.

Products covered on this contract range from traditional fruits such as Apples, Oranges, Peaches, Pears and Bananas and vegetables such as Potatoes, Onions, Carrots, Parsnips, Leeks, Cauliflower and Broccoli, to more exotic fruits, such as Star fruit and Passion Fruit.

These contracts will also enable the NHS in Wales to help support the ‘Opening doors’ agenda by enabling small and medium enterprises throughout the region to compete for business. It is WHS’ intention to seek opportunities to work in partnership with Supplier development services to overcome any barriers that SME’s might face in bidding for the contract.
